Career and Technical Education Summer Conference 2010
Business and Information Technology Education
Date: July 20-22, 2010
Location: Sheraton Greensboro Hotel at Four Seasons/Joseph S. Koury Convention Center
Cost: $165 until July 10; $200 Onsite. Online registration will close July 10. Payment must be mailed by July 10 in order to be processed. Some sessions require additional payment.
Program Highlights
Summer Conference for Business and Information Technology educators is always a time of renewal, update, and networking. An exciting agenda has been planned for you with this in mind. This conference will give you an opportunity to update your skills and network with other BITE teachers across the state.
Program Focus
Monday
- Oracle Thinkquest Projects Training (Preregistration required. See additional information below.)
- Microsoft Office/MCAS and IC3 Certification Testing: Certiport will offer MOS, MCAS, and IC3 certification exams from 8:30 am-4:30 pm. Cost $45 for MOS and $15 for IC3. No advance appointment is required. Signup sheets will be available onsite.
- CIW Certification Testing: e-Commerce I and II teachers can take the CIW Certification exam. Cost $TBD. No advance appointment is necessary. Signup sheets will be available onsite.
Tuesday
- BITE and ME New Teacher/80-hour Induction Module VIII (Preregistration required. See additional information below.)
- Opening Business and Information Technology Education Session
- NCBEA Annual Meeting and Dinner: All NCBEA members are invited to attend. Register on the NCBEA website http://www.ncbea.org/conference.htm
- NCACTE-BE Reception: All NCACTE-BE Division members are invited to attend. Location will be announced at the BITE opening session.
Wednesday
- Classroom and laboratory instruction
- ECU Reception: All ECU Business and Information Technology Education alumnae and those who are interested in the ECU BITE programs are welcome to attend. Location will be announced at the BITE opening session.

Oracle ThinkQuest Projects Training
Monday, July 19, 8:30am - 4:30pm
$20, includes lunch
ThinkQuest Projects is an online project environment where teachers and students engage in collaborative learning. It enables students' development of 21st century skills such as creativity, teamwork, communication, and technology skills. Session participants will learn simple tools for creating and publishing online projects. Register during the online conference registration process. -
BITE and Marketing Education New Teacher/80-Hour Induction Module VIII
